Dr Carolyn Hawke
Dr. Carolyn graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Complementary Medicine) and a Master of Clinical Chiropractic with distinction in 2010. With a deep passion for holistic health, she has cultivated a special interest in pregnancy care, postpartum care, and empowering mothers through pre-conception, pregnancy, and beyond. Additionally, she specializes in pediatric and children’s chiropractic, having completed extensive postgraduate training in pediatric development and pregnancy care.
Dr. Carolyn knows the importance of treating each person holistically, striving to uncover the root cause of problems by looking beyond the symptoms. She employs a wide range of techniques, including traditional Diversified and Gonstead manual adjustments, Thompson "drop piece" adjustments, low-force Activator methods and Sacro-Occipital Technique SOT, as well as soft tissue therapy, massage, and rehabilitative exercise prescriptions.
Her personal journey with chiropractic began as a child when knee pain prevented her from playing basketball. Chiropractic care not only resolved her pain but also fostered a lifelong appreciation for optimal health and well-being, which she continues to pursue and share with her patients.
Since graduating, Dr. Carolyn has built a diverse and enriching career. She began practising in East Gippsland and then the Mornington Peninsula for five years before embarking on a backpacking journey that saw her visit all seven continents. Upon returning to Australia, she worked as a locum chiropractor across the country before settling in Melbourne to establish her own practice in the Yarra Valley, where she has been serving the community for the past seven years. Now making the move to Pando Society in Elwood.
Outside of chiropractic, Dr. Carolyn enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, playing and watching basketball and AFL, discovering new foods and restaurants, and travelling to exciting destinations. Her dedication to her patients and her vibrant approach to life make her a trusted and valued practitioner within her community. She takes pride in creating a warm, inclusive, and welcoming environment that embraces diversity in culture, language, ethnicity, and identity. She fosters a neurodivergent- and LGBTQIA+ friendly space and is committed to providing compassionate and sensitive care for all members of the community.
